In his historic policy speech at the Seventh Session of the Fourteenth Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, said that all the economic policies of the WPK and government are geared to providing the people with an affluent life with nothing to envy by fully satisfying their material and economic needs.

The General Secretary’s saying reflects popular character of the WPK’s economic policies.

The popular character of the WPK’s economic policies is that they are fixed by expressing comprehensively the will and demand of the people.

The WPK found things to work in the people’s simple opinions and fixed everything they want as its policies. Typical policies are to make the working people become masters of the economy, to put the national economy on a Juche, modern, IT and scientific basis, to narrow differences between industrial labor and farm labor, mental work and physical work and to enforce distribution according to the quantity and quality of work done.

The popular character of the WPK’s economic policies is also that they give top and absolute priority to the people’s interests and conveniences.

Even in such a difficult situation as today, the WPK advances such policies as solving the people’s food and necessaries, increasing the production of children’s foodstuffs, constructing 50 000 flats in the capital and constructing for the rural development. This clearly explains the popular character of the WPK’s economic policies.
