Juche

It was one May day in 1982, shortly after Chairman Kim Jong Il made public a treatise On the Juche Idea.

Being told by an official that the treatise caused big sensations as soon it was published, the Chairman said that the Juche philosophy is a man-centered philosophy and explained again the essential attributes of man scientifically.

The Chairman explained that what sort of being man is has become an acute philosophical question raised in the whole course of human history of philosophy and lots of philosophers wrote and argued about man’s essential attributes, but none of them and no extraordinary people discovered the secret of man. The Chairman said that President Kim Il Sung explained man’s essential attributes in the 20^th century for the first time in history and it was a great discovery.

The Chairman defined that independence, creativity and consciousness are social attributes of man, which means that man is a social being with independence, creativity and consciousness.

The Chairman summarized with pride the significance of the Juche philosophy that gave new philosophical explanations on man by saying that man could discover and recognize who he was, thanks to the clarification of his essential attributes, and that man becomes a revolutionary if he knows himself and a slave if he fails to do.
