President Kim Il Sung convened an emergency meeting of commanding officers of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army and chiefs of revolutionary organizations at the temporary secret base in Mt Paekhak in May 1945.

Analyzing the revolutionary situation at home and abroad at the meeting, Kim Il Sung said that the Japanese imperialists were driven into a tight corner by repeated defeats and their ruling foundation was shaken to its roots.

Noting that it is the very time for a final decisive battle when the entire army and all people should put an end to the long-standing colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists and win the ultimate victory in the great anti-Japanese war, Kim Il Sung stressed the need to make immediate preparations for the final decisive battle against the Japanese imperialists.

Saying that it is of primary importance to make political and ideological preparations, Kim Il Sung noted that the entire army and all people should have a high level of ideological consciousness and indomitable fighting spirit to turn out in the final decisive battle with the revolutionary spirit of liberation through self-reliance and faith in sure victory once they are ordered to do.

At the end of the meeting, Kim Il Sung ardently appealed to accomplish with sure the cause of national liberation by the Korean people themselves, thus leading a long journey of their bloody struggle to liberation of the country.
