A conference was held at Mengshancun in autumn of 1940 under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung.
The conference aimed to give confidence and courage to members of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army (KPRA) so that they could keep in mind the sense of responsibility and mission for the revolution and overcome all difficulties and trials.
At the conference, Kim Il Sung said that the situation was growing more and more rigorous and arduous, all the KPRA members believed that the revolution would triumph and that the country would become independent but nobody knew when. Noting that even though they had already fought for some ten years or more, undergoing all sorts of hardships, it was difficult to say definitely how many more years they should have to endure such sufferings–five years, ten years or more, Kim Il Sung stressed that, however, it was clear that the ultimate victory would be theirs.
