It was one day in February 1987, a few days before Chairman Kim Jong Il’s birthday.
In reflection of ardent aspiration of the DPRK people, an official requested the Chairman again and again to allow them to congratulate his birthday on a grand scale.
Being lost in thought for a while, Kim Jong Il said that he was a soldier of President Kim Il Sung and, therefore, only the April holiday when the President was born ought to be celebrated as a great national auspicious event. He continued that he felt the biggest pleasure when he saw the people enjoying the April holiday with delight.
