Majon Bathing Resort is located in Hamhung, South Hamgyong Province, the scenic spot in the East Sea of Korea.
This resort is associated with the revolutionary history of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. The great leader Kim Il Sung chose the site for it after the war in October. The great leader Kim Jong Il visited on several occasions and put forward the orientation and way to build the bathing resort on the world level in line with the people’s sentiments.
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said that it is important to add brilliance to leadership exploits of the great leaders and to provide the people with happier life to build the Majon Bathing Resort on the world level as required by the new century.
When he visited the Majon Bathing Resort, the Supreme Leader said that clear sea water, fresh air, sunlight and beautiful scenery are good not only for the people’s health but for preventing and curing diseases and opened up broad prospect of refurnishing the bathing resort frequented by the people as required by the new century.
Majon Bathing Resort was equipped with modern pavilion, bathing booth with shower, soft drink house and more than other 60 buildings and rest homes.
In sultry summer days tens of thousands of people from all walks of life come here every day and some day as many as 70 000 to 100 000 people spend time of relaxing.
6 kilometer-long sand beach and neighboring seashore are overcrowded with sea-bathing men and women of all ages.
Pine, pine-nut, weeping willow, metasequoia, sycamore, and poplar trees make a green forest along the seashore, and azalea, sweet brier and rose add more to the scenic beauty of the beach.
