The popular masses constitute a social collective united on the basis of the community of independent demand and creative activity with the working people as the main.
They become the subject of history because all socio-historical movements are caused and propelled by the popular masses.
In any society, the popular masses demand the development of society and push ahead with the social development. It is the intrinsic demand of the popular masses to be free from all sorts of subordination and subjugation and live as the master of the world and their own destiny.
The popular masses cause the socio-historical movement for realizing their independent demand.
No being in the world is more powerful and wiser than the popular masses. There is a limit in the strength and wisdom of individual but there is no limit in the popular masses’ strength and wisdom. All things in society are created and history advances thanks to the inexhaustible strength and wisdom of the popular masses.
The popular masses are the powerful force that forms the absolute majority of society, unites and cooperates and grows consistently with the development of society.
Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism clarified that the masters of the revolution and construction are the popular masses and they are the driving force of the revolution and construction.
The revolution and construction are the undertakings for the popular masses themselves and to be carried out by them with responsibility.
The popular masses have a keen interest in the revolution and construction and also the creative strength, the revolutionary ability to push ahead with the revolution and construction.

Politics of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) that puts the people’s interest before others is the politics of boundless love and trust for the people. The DPRK regards the popular masses as the most precious being and calls her name, army, monumental edifices and honorary titles after the word “people”. This symbolizes the popular character of the DPRK.
Under the socialist system where the people-first doctrine is applied, the DPRK people are now discharging responsibility and role befitting masters while occupying the position of master of the state and society and leading the worthwhile and happy life as such.
The DPRK is responsible for and takes care of the people’s life. That’s why her people are now learning to their heart’s content, promoting health and leading the revolutionary optimistic cultural and emotional life thanks to the free education system, free medical care system and various other popular policies. Though in difficulties, the WPK and the state pay primary attention to the improvement of the people’s livelihood and channel every force to it and press ahead with the socialist construction in order to make the people live happily without anything to envy in the world in the near future.

The people are the basis of socialism. It is the essential superiority and invincibility of DPRK’s socialism, in which the Juche idea is embodied, that it strikes its roots deep in the people’s mind and enables the people to defend the cause of socialism even in any storm and stress by displaying their ideological and spiritual strength to the full.
The DPRK’s socialism is strong in Juche character with its roots struck deep in the people’s mind. In the whole process of struggling for socialism, the WPK has consistently adhered to the Juche-oriented stand firmly and done everything in its own way by relying on the popular masses.
As a result, the DPRK’s socialism has become the most progressive and vital socialism in which the intrinsic demand of the people is embodied.
The DPRK people are now filled with determination and will to defend and add luster to their socialism on the basis of confidence in its superiority and vitality.
The DPRK’s socialism is an invincible socialism in which the leader, the Party and the masses are united single-heartedly.
The entire people are firmly united in thought, will, moral obligation with the leader as the center and the whole society forms a big family helping and leading each other with comradeship. This is the essential characteristic and the source of unlimited strength of the DPRK’s socialism.
