The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea celebrates the 75^th anniversary of its founding.

Though small in terms of territory, the country is noted on the international arena for independence in politics and self-reliance in national defence.

Since the very day of its founding, it has held fast to the principle of independence and conducted state building and activities, not by reading others’ faces, but as befits its own interests.

As a result, it could follow the road of socialism in the late 20^th century when the Eastern European socialist countries collapsed one after another.

Even in the present age when arbitrariness and high-handedness are cutting a wide swath, the country is defending its national interests and maintaining its stand and intentions, by increasing its military capabilities.The country, small yet strong, serves as an example for many countries, desirous of politics of independence.

Demand for independence is the demand of a social being to live and develop as master of the world and one’s own destiny free from all fetters and subordinations.

Since man lives and conducts activities in the world, independence is expressed in detail in the fact that man wages struggle to live as master of nature, society and oneself.

Man’s demand for independence to live as master of nature is expressed in getting rid of all fetters and subordinations of nature to transform them into conditions favourable for his existence and development, the abundant material source of living.

Man’s demand for independence to live as master of society is expressed in getting rid of all social fetters and becoming an equal master of the state and society, thus living and developing while exercising fully the dignity and rights of a social being.

Man’s demand for independence to live as master of oneself is expressed in getting rid of fetters of old, reactionary idea and culture to live and develop as a being more powerful in mental and physical way.

Content and level of demand for independence differs according to stages of specific historical development.

However, demand for independence is made inevitably and permanently with existence of man, and keeps developing into a higher stage not remaining on one stage.

As demand for independence is realized fully, man can further strengthen his position as master of the world and himself.

Kim Il Sung, eternal President of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, devoted his whole life to accomplishing the anti-imperialist cause for independence of mankind.

By brilliantly applying the Juche idea, which he had authored, to the national liberation struggle, he put forward the guidelines for the national liberation movement that the oppressed peoples of the world could achieve their genuine freedom and independence by their own efforts and struggle.

Kim Il Sung emphasized that all the countries and nations, as equal members of the international society, should maintain independence, oppose power politics and vigorously wage a world-wide joint struggle to prevent aggression and war.

The important content in the theory on law-governed process of global independence clarified by Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is that global independence is realized through independence of each country and nation.

To realize independence of country and nation means that all countries and nations do not submit to any big powers or dominationist forces but exercise complete independence in external relations.

Realizing independence of country and nation arises as a primary matter in realizing global independence.

Global independence is not realized at one time. It covers a certain law-governed stage.

In other words, global independence is realized when all countries and nations become independent and through the struggle to realize regional independence.

Independence of country and nation is not realized by itself but realized only through the struggle of its members.

Under the condition that imperialist and dominationist forces are now ruthlessly trampling down small countries with high-handedness and tyranny, each country and nation must regard independence as their life and soul and dynamically wage the struggle to frustrate aggression and intervention, high-handedness and tyranny of imperialism and dominationism and exercise full-fledged independence in the international arena by firmly uniting with each other.

Independence of country and nation is realized through the process of realizing political independence by independent politics and safeguarding peace and security of the country by dint of self-reliant defence while strengthening the independent character and might of the national economy.

Nowadays, the Bangladesh people are feeling the importance of the independence and sovereignty because the foreign forces are interfering by the name of democracy and human right in the opportunity of the general election of this country.

In conclusion, I called upon the progressive and revolutionary people of the world to give up preceding ideologies and hold strongly Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, because it is the only revolutionary and guiding ideology of the contemporary world that I tried to prove here.

I strongly believe if they really hold this ideology, they will be victorious against capitalism, imperialism and all sorts of exploitation and oppression.
