Comrade Kim Il Sung held the Sixth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea on October 10, 1980, on the occasion of the 35th founding anniversary of the WPK. It was the last Party congress that Comrade Kim Il Sung guided in his life time.
At the congress, Comrade Kim Il Sung set it as the general task of the revolution to model the whole society after the Juche idea.
The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung said.
“Modelling the whole of society after the Juche idea means building a communist society by maintaining this idea as one’s steadfast guideline and applying it thoroughly in the revolution and construction. In other words, it means realizing the complete independence of the working masses by remoulding all the members of society into communists of a Juche type and transforming all aspects of social life in accordance with the Juche idea.”
Modelling the whole of society after the Juche idea means building the communist society, a society where the popular masses’ independence has been completely realized.
Comrade Kim Il Sung clarified that only by stepping up the three revolutions—ideological, technological and cultural—can we develop all the members of society into communists of Juche type, transform all of society along working-class lines, thus eliminating class distinctions and develop productive forces to such an extent that distribution can be made according to needs.
Comrade Kim Il Sung put it forward as an immediate task for modelling the whole of society after the Juche idea to achieve the complete victory of socialism.
Modelling the whole of society after the Juche idea, that is, modelling the whole of society on Kimilsungism had been the general line of the WPK since the Sixth Party Congress.
With the start of Comrade Kim Jong Un’s leadership after the demise of Comrade Kim Jong Il in 2011, modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism was formulated.
Essence of the general line was not changed, but it was further enriched in keeping with changed circumstances.
In the report to the Seventh Congress of the WPK on the work of the Central Committee made in 2016, Comrade Kim Jong Un clarified that the modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the ultimate programme of the WPK.
Comrade Kim Jong Un explained that in order to accomplish the socialist cause and realize complete independence of the masses of the people, the whole society should be modelled on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
Comrade Kim Jong Un’s explanation is as same as the contents of Comrade Kim Il Sung’s speech made in 1980, in which he pointed out the need of building a communist society, a classless society, that is a communist society where complete independence of the people has been realized.
Comrade Kim Jong Un said that modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism means training all members of society to be genuine Kimilsungists-Kimjongilists and transforming politics, military affairs, the economy, culture and all other fields as required by this ideology, thereby realizing the people’s complete independence.
The main task in modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, advanced by Comrade Kim Jong Un, is to consummate the cause of building a powerful socialist country.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the building of a powerful socialist country is a historic phase in the struggle to model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and it constitutes the process of laying the foundations of socialism and achieving its complete victory.
Comrade Kim Jong Un said that, in order to model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and build a powerful socialist country, it is necessary to vigorously carry out the three revolutions—ideological, technological and cultural—while strengthening the people’s government and enhancing its functions and role.
At the Eighth Party Congress, Comrade Kim Jong Un earnestly called on to vigorously fight on for a fresh leap forward and victory in socialist construction, rallied closely around the Party Central Committee under the uplifted banner of great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
Modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, advanced by Comrade Kim Jong Un, is development of the Party’s general line of modelling the whole society after the Juche idea put forward by Comrade Kim Il Sung.
Comrade Kim Jong Un implements the behests of Comrade Kim Il Sung comprehensively and perfectly. Comrade Kim Jong Un leads unflaggingly the efforts to build the DPRK into a powerful socialist country true to the behests of Comrade Kim Il Sung.
