In Order to Add Brilliance to National Cultural Heritage through Generations

Chairman Kim Jong Il was patriotic throughout his life. Excellent cultural heritages of the Korean nation are also associated with energetic leadership of the Chairman.
The Chairman wisely led to produce films, pictorials and pamphlets about relics and remains of the ancestors so as to add brilliance to the wisdom and talents of the intelligent Korean nation.
It was when a documentary film was to be made about the Koguryo mural tombs thanks to the Chairman’s patriotic intention to hand down the Korean nation’s time-honoured history through generations. At that time officials concerned found it difficult to produce the film as the film-making needed heavy expenses.
Being told about the situation, the Chairman said to the officials… Expense does not matter as it aims to finely preserve the relics of the ancestors and hand them down to posterities. You are saying that it will be necessary to erect many electric poles as old tombs are in deep mountains. Then, let us erect all necessary poles and produce the documentary film no matter how much it may cost. The Chairman took measures to preferentially provide funds necessary for making the film.
Koguryo mural tombs distributed in different parts of the country were filmed with success under the Chairman’s special concerns.
Thanks to the Chairman’s intention and will to add brilliance to national cultural heritages as the valuable wealth of the nation, several documentary films were made about the cultural heritages of the Koguryo period in a short period and handed down through generations.
