    One day in April 1986, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the Central Zoo. Dropping in a rhinoceros shed, the Chairman was told that the people are fond of seeing the rhinoceros. The Chairman said that he was pleased when he saw the happy people.

    As a matter of fact, there were different opinions when the officials raised the issue of carrying one rhinoceros from a country in Africa. One of them suggested carrying it by DPRK’s trading ship at anchor nearby and the other by a foreign freight ship which was to come to the DPRK.

    Informed it, the Chairman said that carrying a rhinoceros is a matter for the good of the people, and therefore it is necessary to carry it by plane without calculating this or that. When he was told by the officials on the spot that the rhinoceros was big, the Chairman told them to carry it by a foreign large transport plane even it cost much, adding that it is the pleasure to see the delighted people.

    Thanks to the benevolence bestowed by Chairman Kim Jong Il who spared nothing for the people, the rhinoceros nested at the Central Zoo adding the people’s pleasure.
