    It was one year when Carrillo, general secretary of the former Communist Party of Spain visited the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

    Carrillo asked an official concerned the heights of the statue of President Kim Il Sung on Mansu Hill, the Tower of the Juche Idea and the Arch of Triumph.

    Listening to his answer, Carrillo said that the statue of President Kim Il Sung was erected on the highest level in line with the dignified authority of the President and the Arch of Triumph is incomparably higher than the one in Paris. He asked who initiated their erection.

    The official told him that Chairman Kim Jong Il initiated and energetically guided their erection. Carrillo was lost in deep thought for a moment.

    Soon Carrillo said with solemn emotion that the international communist movement history records reputed such successors as Engels and Stalin but they did not hold up their leaders as Chairman Kim Jong Il did. He said that a great man respects great man.
