One day in August 1998, Chairman Kim Jong Il called an official and told him about preparations for the First Session of the Tenth Supreme People’s Assembly.
Acquainting himself with several issues related to the preparations for the session, Kim Jong Il said that it was necessary for participants in the session to hear the recorded policy speech Let Us Bring the Advantages of Socialism in Our Country into Full Play delivered by President Kim Il Sung at the First Session of the Ninth Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK.
In fact, all participants in the Supreme People’s Assembly earnestly wished that Kim Jong Il was held in high esteem as the head of the state and he would make a historic policy speech.
However, Kim Jong Il saw that the participants heard the recorded policy speech of Kim Il Sung, at the First Session of the Tenth Supreme People’s Assembly.
