President Kim Il Sung was born into a poor peasant’s family in Mangyongdae on April 15, 1912.

First seed of the DPRK people’s revolutionary fighting spirit which took its root in the straw-thatched house of Mangyongdae has now grown into the immortal Juche idea.

Today Mangyongdae has become a historical place of big significance not only for the DPRK people but for the people in many countries of the world.

The DPRK people regard this straw-thatched house as a very precious one and take good care of it because it is a glorious house of the sun of the Korean revolution that will be eternal as long as the earth exists.

At present many nations in the world, the people of the newly independent countries, in particular, recognize the Juche idea as the one that meets their aspiration.

History of human thought tells that many thinkers evolved some views on the issue related to existence of mankind but the views were not perfect. This issue has been explained in practice by the Juche idea.

The Juche idea is based on the philosophical principle that man is the master of everything and decides everything. It gave clear explanations to this issue by applying the principles of independence in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in defence.

We admire President Kim Il Sung, the author of the Juche idea, as a symbol of the people’s happiness and prosperity, progress and justice and as a personifier of their ideal.

The world progressives remember April 15, 1912.

It is because this day is when the great President Kim Il Sung who boundlessly loves his people was born.

We announce with pride that April 15 is a great holiday of mankind.
