Juche

It is a significant day when Kim Jong Il was elected the Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.

The day is associated with ever-victorious tradition, daring spirit and bright future of Juche Korea that is dignified with independence, prosperous with self-reliance and strong with self-defence capabilities

Entering the 1990s, imperialists moved desperately to stifle the DPRK, a bulwark of the world socialism, with the collapse of socialism in some countries as an opportunity.

At that time, Chairman Kim Jong Il solemnly declared that he would rely on the Party and force of arms to invariably defend the red flag of Juche associated with the whole life of President Kim Il Sung.

Cherishing a high ideal to build a thriving country instead of merely standing difficulties, the Chairman made a devoted journey for the people and laid solid foundations for the building of a powerful socialist country.

Thanks to the historic day, the DPRK people and the officers and men of the Korean People’s Army could perform miracles and merits in the struggle to defend socialism and accomplish the cause of building a powerful country.
