I Wish My Father Were Worker

There is Kyongru-dong where modern dwelling houses were newly built on the bank of the Pothong River in Pyongyang.

One day a few junior middle school students began chatting on a trolley bus when it was running by Kyongru-dong.

One of them pointed at the dwelling houses in Kyongru-dong and said that one of his classmates lives in one of them. He continued that he found it was wonderful when he visited his house. Other students asked what his father was. He answered… his father has been working in the same job for scores of years. Listening to him, the students said with envy. “I wish that my father were a worker. Then I would live there.”

They were envious of workers who live and work as masters of the country, the socialist working people and heroic working class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
