The Nigerian National Committee for the study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism carried an article under the title “Down-with Imperialism Union, Root of the Workers’ Party of Korea” on the internet homepage on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of its formation. The article says…Members of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) were the revolutionary vanguard fighters who pioneered a new path of the Korean revolution. They were enthusiastic revolutionaries who upheld President Kim Il Sung as the leader of the revolution, the sun of the nation and the centre of their unity and cohesion already at the dawn of the Korean revolution.
During the arduous days of the anti-Japanese struggle, organizational and ideological bases were provided. Programme of the DIU became a foundation for the programme of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the DIU’s principle of independence a firm guiding principle of its building and activities.
In celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand said…The DIU is a historical root of the Workers’ Party of Korea. With the root, the Workers’ Party of Korea could hold independence firmly and steadily cover the road of socialism, the road of Juche. There are no parties in the world but the Workers’ Party of Korea which has led the people to advance the revolution and construction victoriously without any slightest stagnation and standstill, any vacillation and frustration.
