AKP of Cambodia carried an article under the title “The Army of the People” on the internet homepage in February 2019 on the occasion of the founding day of the Korean People’s Army (KPA). It said as follows.
An army in every country is considered to be a consuming unit and its role is confined to defending the country, disaster rescues and so on. However, the KPA plays an important role not only in national defence but in other different fields including the economic construction, thus making the people enjoy the substantial benefits.
Indeed, the KPA is the army of the people as the name shows.
The KPA has reliably safeguarded security of the country and people for over 70 years since its founding. This is clearly proved by the incomparable feats performed by the servicemen of the KPA in the Fatherland Liberation War.
The KPA also makes big contributions to the economic construction for the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people. In recent years, too, the KPA has built many monumental creatures in main fronts of the socialist construction.
