On the occasion of the founding day of the Korean People’s Army in 2020, an Indian newspaper wrote as follows as regards with the immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung in building the army.
Having achieved historical cause of national liberation, Kim Il Sung set forth the original policy of building a regular armed force by the Korean people’s own efforts after liberation and advanced detailed ways to do so. He saw that the bases for training military and political cadres were established and the core units of the regular armed forces were formed. Accordingly, all the problems arising in building the regular armed forces were solved with success in a short span of time thanks to his energetic leadership.
Kim Il Sung declared to the world the founding of the KPA, the regular revolutionary armed force, on February 8, 1948. Thanks to the founding of the KPA, military guarantee for the independent development of the country and the people could be provided and abroad avenue for vigorously advancing of the Korean revolution by relying on strong force of arms laid out.
