The Workers’ Party of Korea’s view of independent scientific development and independent economic development is a programmatic guideline that enables the DPRK to strengthen and develop science and technology and the economy to the full with self-reliance as a lifeline of self-existence and self-development and a powerful motive force for development.

View of independent scientific development is a view and stand of registering scientific research achievements, which can be said to be the DPRK-style, by studying, developing and creating with one’s own brain in the Juche-oriented stand. View of independent economic development is a view and stand of bringing about economic development by oneself without being moved by any foreign factors on the basis of one’s own scientific research achievements and technological development.

Establishing the view of independent scientific development is prerequisite to the building of an independent economy, and the view of independent economic development decides goal and orientation of the independent scientific development.
