Chairman Kim Jong Il’s Outlook on Life

Chairman Kim Jong Il was the peerlessly great man who devoted his whole life to the building of a prosperous country and happiness of the people, possessed of the noble outlook on life.

Here is a moving episode which tells his noble outlook on life.

One February day in 2009 he watched the shelling training of a military unit.

Officials who watched the shelling training demonstrating the will to smash mercilessly the enemy who dare attempt to mar the dignity of the DPRK told Chairman Kim Jong Il, with emotional feelings, that they would live like green leaves of a big tree which contributes to prosperity of the country.

Looking at them, he said that a revolutionary should be a root.

Chairman Kim Jong Il said to them. …If a tree grows vigorously, it should have deep roots. Only then, can it grow to be a big tree. Whatever big tree it is, it withers if its roots are rotten. A big tree stands with thick branches and leaves as its roots are stricken deep sending nutrients to the branches and leaves.

A big tree is visible, but its roots are invisible. People appreciate the big and thick image of a tree, but few people appreciate its roots. Roots ceaselessly work under the ground for a tree without concerning about whether they are appreciated or not…

He told them that it is the outlook on life for the Korean revolutionaries to be the roots of the revolution He said he tried to be a deep root for the revolution.

Let us be deep roots for the revolution!

His saying reflects the noble outlook on life of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Possessed of such a noble outlook on life, he devoted himself to the country and people to the last moment of his life.

The Korean officials, service personnel and people make efforts to live like him with his noble outlook on life.
