    Building of a powerful country is a unanimous long-cherished desire of all countries and nations and a main trend of the present era.

    Many countries and people in the world compete with each other for development and prosperity and rise and fall continues making in such competitions. The complicated world of today raises such serious yet urgent issues as what a powerful country is and how to build such a country.

    It was President Kim Il Sung who gave perfect explanation for the first time in history to the issue raised by humankind and worked heart and soul in his whole life to open up a new path of building a powerful country.

    Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said.

    “Kim Il Sung, who authored the guiding ideology of the era of independence and laid a lasting cornerstone for the accomplishment of the cause of the independence of the masses, the socialist cause, will always live as the great leader of the people, as the Sun of Juche.”

    President Kim Il Sung built, strengthened and developed the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea into the most independent state.

    Independence was the President’s lifelong political creed and revolutionary practice, and the fundamental principle in building a powerful socialist country.

    The President regarded independence as life and soul of the country and nation since he started the Korean revolution. In the first period of building a new country he saw through all the factors that would affect the state building and activities such as concrete conditions of the DPRK, protractedness of the hostile forces’ moves against the DPRK, contradiction and confrontation between big powers, etc. and considered independence as the lifeline and cornerstone in the state building.

    The President resolutely rejected flunkeyism and dogmatism, high-handedness and pressure of outside forces and thoroughly adhered to independence in the state building and activities. The President solved all problems independently in line with requirements of the Korean revolution, interests of the Korean people and actual conditions of the country.

    Distinguished and wise leadership of the President built the powerful driving force of the Korean revolution, strengthened and developed the DPRK into a bulwark of socialism that is independent, self-sufficient and self-defensive even under the vicious anti-Republic suffocation moves of imperialism and fully demonstrated external prestige of the country.

    President Kim Il Sung also built, strengthened and developed the DPRK into a people-centered socialist country.

    People are root and foundation of the socialist country, and the performer of its development. Only when the state building and activities are oriented and submitted thoroughly to the defending and realizing of the people’s demand and interests and faithfully serving the people, can the revolution and construction be accelerated successfully and vitality and superiority of socialism displayed to the full. The correct road of building of a powerful country is to build a people-centered socialist country and display its superiority to the full.

    The President applied thoroughly the noble idea and will The people are my God in the state building, built for the first time in history a genuine people’s country where the popular masses become masters of the state and society and everything in the state and society serve them.

    History and reality show that a country, that holds up its people as the most precious and powerful being in the world, boundlessly loves the people and realizes their demand and interests to the letter, is the most powerful one with viability.

    President Kim Il Sung also strengthened the Party’s leadership over the overall work of the state.

    Party’s leadership is an intrinsic requirement for the building of a socialist state and a lifeline of state activities. Socialist state can fully discharge its mission as a servant of the people, realize a unified guidance in all fields and domains of social life and properly organize and conduct the struggle for the overall socialist construction only when it is led by the party that embodies the people’s demand and interests.

    Regarding the Party’s leadership over the state building as an important problem directly related to existence of the state and destiny of the people, the President strengthened and developed the WPK into a guiding force of the socialist government and the state into a thorough implementer of the Party’s lines and policies.

    Thanks to the wise leadership of the President, the government of the Republic fully realized its unified guidance over the state and the society by relying on the revolutionary guiding ideology and scientific strategy and tactics of the WPK. As a result, the DPRK has fully performed its mission as a faithful servant of the people and is reliably safeguarding the people’s destiny and advancing the building of a powerful country even in political upheavals of the world and in such grave circumstances and conditions as today.
