Noteworthy in the politics based on the people-first principle enforced by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the last 10 years is that top priority was given to education so as to train all people into powerful beings possessed of independent consciousness and creative ability.
Saying that it is necessary to guarantee the future by dint of education, Kim Jong Un saw that the universal 12-year compulsory education system was established and the younger generation trained into the comprehensively developed talents who are knowledgeable, virtuous and healthy.
Kim Jong Un kindled the flames of effecting a turn in education so as to make the contents of education practical, comprehensive and up-to-date and renovate the methodology of education, thus making the students active learners and researchers. He saw that the renovation of key universities including Kim Il Sung University and Pyongyang Teacher Training College was hastened, hundreds of schools were put on a modern basis every year and a distance education system was established across the country. He made sure that the Sci-Tech Complex was built as required by the new century and Mirae e-Library and sci-tech learning space were established in every province, city and county and in every factory and enterprise so as to establish the system of making the working people have access to data bases of the Grand People’s Study House, Sci-Tech Complex and Central Science and Technology Agency.
Thanks to Kim Jong Un’s attentive guidance, all people can develop their consciousness of independence and creative ability as required by the developing era while learning to their hearts’ contents.
Once UNESCO made public that, if one extended education one year, one would make an economic growth rate by more than 9 per cent. However, even those countries which call themselves as big powers fail to do it. Only the DPRK has been enforcing the universal 12-year compulsory education.
