One day in winter scores of years ago, Kim Jong Il, who was making on-the-spot guidance to Ryanggang Province, went to Mt Paektu where snowstorm raged in all its fury with officials.
Kim Jong Il encouraged the officials who experienced raging snowstorm for the first time by saying that it was the start of real march. Then he stood in van of the officials to climb Mt. Paektu.
Climbing the mountain through the raging snowstorm, Kim Jong Il said that President Kim Il Sung overcame so many deadlines that were beyond man’s imagination in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle and that this was the revolutionary spirit of Paektu.
Kim Jong Il continued that when one cherished the revolutionary spirit of Paektu, he could dash forward even in the shower of bullets and sang a revolutionary song even on a scaffold. He said that this was the invincible truth proved by the history of the Korean revolution.
Looking at big and small peaks of Mt Paektu, Kim Jong Il said that he made decision to live and struggle for ever in the revolutionary spirit of Paektu.
