One autumn day scores of years ago, Chairman Kim Jong Il who had been busy as usual left for Mt. Kumgang at midnight.

The Chairman arrived at Mt. Kumgang at dawn. The Chairman kept eyes on a natural rock, on which words of a song that reflects gratitude and intense loyalty of the Korean people for President Kim Il Sung and the Party were carved, and the date when the words of the song were carved.

Saying with broad smile that he was pleased to see the date carved on the rock, he told an official accompanied to go back to Pyongyang.

Moved by the Chairman who traveled 800ri(320kms) at midnight to see the date carved on the rock, the official asked him to spend one night for rest and then go back.

The Chairman said with a smile that he had traveled a long journey throughout night not to have a rest there.

Kim Jong Il stood in front of the rock for 5 minutes.

5 minutes and 1600 ri-round trip was the moment when Chairman Kim Jong Il’s noble intention to add lustre to greatness of President Kim Il Sung for all ages was recorded in history and the journey of loyalty to be retold from generation to generation.
