There are several mines in the Komdok area which is located in the northern part of the DPRK.

The Komdok area is undergoing tremendous changes thanks to the Party’s far- reaching plan to build it into a mountainous ravine city to be envied by everyone.

Single, small, multi-storeyed and terraced dwelling houses have been and are now being built along the deep ravine.

Thousands of dwelling houses were built in a period of less than one year and the people moved into the new houses.

Both residents who received entrance certificates and those who are to receive them were moved to tears by the gratitude for the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

One day in October 2020 Kim Jong Un came to a rehabilitation site of the flood-afflicted Komdok area through the dangerous railway on the pier temporarily built above the ravine. Learning about the severe damage in the area he immediately dispatched the People’s Army units to the site and took benevolent measures to remove the misfortune and pain of the people in the damage-affected area as soon as possible.

Looking at the old houses in the area at that time, Kim Jong Un said that his conscience would not allow him just to build new houses only for the flood victims. He suggested to build a model mountainous city, a city for miners in the area.

Thanks to the warm love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the residents in the area moved into the new dwelling houses which were built in less than a year since the beginning of its building.
