The 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea advanced the tasks before the sectors of railway transport and machine-building industry.
Transport is immediately production and production is transport.
The WPK sets it as an urgent requirement of the building of a powerful socialist country at present to boost the railway transport, the arteries of the country and the forefront of the national economy.
The sector of railway transport should enhance safety of railways, accelerate its modernization and establish the unified state system of controlling the overall transport so as to develop transport of the country by stages.
Duty and role of the sector of machine-building industry is very important as it is the core of heavy industry and the basis for development and technical progress in several sectors of the economy.
The sector of machine-building industry should provide with responsibility the equipment needed in implementing the adjustment and improvement plans of several sectors and units of the economy and boost the production of various vehicles, electric machines and construction tools and improve their quality.
