Juche

The news that the neutrality pact was concluded in 1941 between the Soviet Union and Japan shocked the world. This shock affected the men of weak will. It was necessary to strengthen the ideological work of arming the KPRA guerrillas more firmly with faith in sure victory and maintaining the steadfast independent stand that the Korean revolution should be accomplished at any cost on their own efforts.

Taking deep penetration into such reality and the prevailing situation, Kim Il Sung set forth the revolutionary slogan “Let us carry out the Korean revolution by our own efforts!” in May 1941. He said that the ideological education should be conducted positively to hold fast to the Juche-oriented stand and consummate the Korean revolution by the Korean people’s own efforts in the Kanbaeksan secret camp in June 1941.

At several other meetings, he also said that it was necessary to prepare the revolutionary forces and further intensify activities of the KPRA small-units and groups with the revolutionary awareness that they were masters of the revolution and with firm faith that they could consummate the Korean revolution by their own efforts despite of all difficulties.
