    On November 6, 1982 leader Kim Jong Il had a talk with the officials concerned and gave precious teachings related to the cultural and emotional life of the working people.

    Leader Kim Jong Il gave detailed instructions, finding fault that no commendable progress had been made even though he had instructed them many times and taken series of measures to emotionally organize the working people’s life by further encouraging folk games and various kinds of amusements.

    Stressing that he could not find the amusement facilities including chessboards and kkoni boards being produced and sold, the leader explained that such amusement facilities as chessboard and kkoni board should be produced and sold in large number and the chessboards be in different sizes as the chess and kkoni are good amusements enabling the people to use their brain.

    The leader continued that the tops and kites should be made from now on to be sold in shops so as to make the children whip tops and do kite-flying. The leader stressed that an amusement facility shop should be set up in Changgwang Street to sell the cards as well as chessboards, kites and tops, thus enabling the working people to lead cultured life and adding beauty to the scenic beauty of Pyongyang City. The leader instructed the officials to study necessary measures in the future, thus making the workers lead cultured life.

    Chess, kkoni and tops--all these are the trifles.

    A new amusement facility shop was opened in Changgwang Street to attract many customers all the times thanks to the boundless affection of leader Kim Jong Il who gave importance to even a trifle if it was the one that could give happiness and pleasure to the people.
