     One day in January, 1952, President Kim Il Sung called an official concern to instruct him to recall the soldiers of the People’s Army who were fighting battles in the front to send them to universities.

    It was unthinkable in general knowledge to recall the soldiers from the fronts to send them to universities in the period of decisive battle with the US imperialists that were boasting of being “the strongest”.

    President Kim Il Sung said earnestly to the official who was in astonishment that of course, it was not easy to recall many soldiers from the front to make them study in universities in the midst of fierce war, but it was necessary to do so boldly for the sake of victorious tomorrow.

    According to this unprecedented measure, a great number of students and teachers who went out into the front holding the arms in their hands to defend the fatherland and people’s happiness were recalled.

    In case of Kim Il Sung University only, over 600 students were recalled to the University from the front.

    Not only the soldiers who were recalled to universities but the soldiers in the fierce battle sites were filled with the confidence in victory in the war.

    The officers and men of the heroic Korean People’s Army kept the faith in victory that as long as they have President Kim Il Sung, an outstanding military strategist and iron-willed commander, Korea would win victory and gave heavy blows to the US imperialists in every battle.

    The students who were recalled from the front prepared themselves fully in the rear as the talents who would contribute to the victory in the war, postwar rehabilitation and the general development of the country, with the great trust and expectation of President Kim Il Sung.

    As a result, the Korean people who emerged victorious in the 3-years Fatherland Liberation War accelerated the postwar rehabilitation by depending on their own talents to humble the US imperialists who clamoured that Korea would not recover from the ashes even in hundred years.
