It was in the morning on February 8, 1948.

Making preparations for going to the venue of military parade, President Kim Il Sung told Kim Jong Suk, the anti-Japanese heroine, that it was a historic day of great significance and that 16 years had elapsed since he, in military uniform made by sick mother Kang Pan Sok, declared the founding of the Anti-Japanese People’s Guerrilla Army in Antu, China.

That day, Kim Il Sung said that the preparations for founding the Korean People’s Army could be finished in time even in the difficult and complicated situation after liberation as the backbone of the revolutionary armed forces had been built and rich experience gained in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Kim Il Sung suggested Kim Jong Suk to go to the venue of military parade and see the grand military parade of the People’s Army that would defend dignity and glory of the Korean nation by force of arms.

With reminiscences of the origin of the revolutionary regular armed forces in the morning of that historic day that would be recorded in the army building history, Kim Il Sung went to the venue of military parade together with Kim Jong Suk and young Kim Jong Il.
