    Chairman Kim Jong Il was a peerless great person who possessed firm revolutionary faith that no leader in the world had possessed, and led the Korean revolution along the ever-victorious road.

    Chairman Kim Jong Il said.

    “Revolutionary conviction is an ideological source of an unbreakable fighting spirit to brave any difficulty and trials that may stand in one’s way in the revolutionary struggle. A man with firm convictions carries out his revolutionary task by unwaveringly overcoming hardships in any kind of difficult, complicated situation.”

    History of the popular masses’ struggle for independence records numerous great men and revolutionaries who became famous for their firm faith.

    However, their faith and will are incomparable with the faith of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

    There has never been such great person in all ages and countries as Kim Jong Il who possessed an iron faith.

    The Korean revolution was an arduous one that had pushed its way through the thorny path while overcoming difficulties and trials.

    In the past, the imperialists desperately attacked to stifle the Korean revolution and the reactionaries within and without put on the brakes every step.

    And very difficult and huge revolutionary tasks faced her at that.

    Indeed, there were numerous difficulties and trials and enormous works to carry out.

    It was the Korean revolution that could not be advanced even a step unless there was a firm faith.

    However, Kim Jong Il who possessed a firm courage and unyielding fighting spirit that there’s always a way out, made headway against difficulties and trials with redoubled courage in high spirits and turned the adversities into prosperity and the misfortunes into blessings.

    No one in the world can win a man prepared for death; live for tomorrow; a man who laughs last is a victor; self-reliance is an only way out—this was the representation of Kim Jong Il’s faith who made headway against difficulties and trials.

    First of all, Kim Jong Il’s faith was the one based on the boundless loyalty to President Kim Il Sung and the revolutionary cause of Juche.

    The ideological and metal source of the revolutionary faith and strong will lies in the loyalty to the leader and his cause.

    Kim Jong Il was a distinguished leader who possessed the loyalty to the leader and his cause on the highest level.

    Kim Jong Il who already set the accomplishment of the President’s revolutionary cause as his lifelong mission true to his determination made on Ryongnam Hill, judged and approached all things with loyalty to the President as an only criterion while making the loyalty to the President and his revolutionary cause run through his all thinking and activities.

    After the sudden demise of the President, he declared his firm determination to the world to accomplish the President’s revolutionary cause through generations.

    Don’t expect any change from me; we will make the revolution and construction as the President wished and did; we will invariably advance along the road of Juche pioneered by the President—this was the firm faith of Kim Jong Il who kept the loyalty to the President and the cause of Juche.

    Next, Kim Jong Il’s faith was the one based on the absolute trust in the people.

    A leader is ever-victorious when he believes in and relies on the people but suffers the setback when he keeps way from the people and is forsaken by them.

    Faith and will of a leader become strong and consolidated only when they are based on the correct viewpoint and standpoint towards the people.

    Kim Jong Il was an incarnation of noble benevolence who had devotedly served the people while believing in the people as in the Heaven and regarding them as teachers.

    Firmly possessing an iron faith that as long as there are the people and the army, he can defeat any powerful enemy and overcome any grave situation, he put forward the most revolutionary lines, politics and policies and carried them out to the end by giving the fullest play to the revolutionary enthusiasm and creative wisdom of the people and the army.

    Kim Jong Il and the Korean people formed a harmonious whole that could not be broken by any power as the people firmly believed in and followed the leader and the leader believed in and relied on the people as in the Heaven.

    His faith was resolute and firm as he believed in and relied on the people.

    Kim Jong Il’ faith keeps the strong spirit of Mt. Paektu that does not hesitate before any raging wind.

    Mt. Paektu is the ancestral mountain associated with the indomitable soul and spirit of the Korean nation and the sacred mountain of revolution on which the revolutionary cause of Juche was pioneered.

    Kim Jong Il who was born as the “Shining Star on Mt. Paektu” in the historic period when the dawn of the country’s liberation was breaking in, cherished the spirit and disposition of Mt. Paektu as it is while hearing the blizzards of Mt. Paektu and the gun reports as the lullabies.

    In his early age, he cherished deep in his mind the courage of hero and matchless grit, will of annihilating the enemy and unyielding and invariable toughness that were as the same as the spirit of Mt. Paektu, and he further consolidated them in the process of leading the stern Korean revolution along with the President.

    Possessing the spirit of Mt. Paektu as it as, Kim Jong Il planned and unfolded revolution and the construction on a large scale boldly and managed all affairs with firm courage that he would do anything even though the sky falls and the land sinks.

    He was unperturbed before the provocations of huge army of enemies but dealt a bigger blow to the enemies and thus defended the dignity and honor of the DPRK.

    Such facts of wining victory one after another in the confrontation with the imperialists clearly proved how firm and strong the faith and will of Kim Jong Il who did not budge an inch before thunder and lightning were.
