The main spirit of the 5th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea is to break through harsh national crisis with success and carry out the goal for this year with confidence in victory and firm will, thus bringing about a new phase of vigorous national development.
The main spirit of the plenary meeting reflects the WPK’s thoroughgoing faith to fulfill responsibility and duty as a motherly party that serves the people in any situation and circumstance.
For the WPK which strikes roots of its existence among the people, taking responsible care of the people’s destiny and life is the most important matter to solve without fail irrespective of whether conditions and circumstances are favorable or not.
The Party and the people’s government are needed to hold the Korean people in respect—this is the political philosophy and ideal of the WPK.
The more difficulties the people have, the more friendly and deeply the WPK goes among them and the more sincere devotion it makes for them.
In the plenary meeting, the WPK set farming and production of mass consumer goods as an urgent task of economic tasks for this year and put forward a militant task of carrying out with sure the major construction project and the first year’s task of building dwelling houses in rural areas. It also emphasized to press ahead simultaneously the successful breaking of the immediate anti-epidemic crisis and the building of the state anti-epidemic capability.
This is to firmly defend the people’s safety and realize their centuries-old dream and ideal at a possibly immediate date.
