The 13^th Session of the 14^th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK was held in September 2025 amid the extraordinary determination and great political enthusiasm of the participants to fulfill their responsibility and duty assigned by the people at the forefront of the sacred struggle to bring earlier the comprehensive rejuvenation of the dignified DPRK true to the ideology and cause of the great Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un made an important speech which clarifies the important policy orientation of the government of the Republic at the second-day sitting of the 13^th Session of the 14^th SPA.

Making a strict analysis of the trend of the situation on and around the Korean peninsula, he clarified that the Republic is an independent socialist state that never tolerates any kind of subjugation or domination and, so, the most important of its state affairs is to strengthen its self-defensive capabilities, and this is something which the Republic must bolster without a moment’s halt and make no compromise over.

He continued that, by relying on the powerful war deterrent the Republic has already built up, it should work responsibly to defend the state’s sovereignty and security, and make constant efforts to increase its capability with which to counter all kinds of military threats. Saying that the Republic should make proactive efforts to ensure that its paramilitary forces maintain full readiness as required by the features of modern warfare, thus further consolidating the might of the nationwide, all-people defence system, he highlighted that the Republic should see to it that the national trait of everyone regarding national defence as the highest expression of patriotism and rendering wholehearted support to the People’s Army is brought into fuller play.
