    President Kim Il Sung devoted his whole life to the freedom of the country, the happiness of the people and the revolutionary cause of the working class and performed immortal exploits before the era and the revolution since he had embarked on the road of the revolutionary struggle shouldering the destiny of the country and nation.

    It finds its clear expression in the titles of the hero, Labour hero, Marshal and Generalissimo of the DPRK conferred upon the President by the Korean.

    The Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK awarded the title of the DPRK Marshal on February 7, 1952 and the title of the DPRK hero on July 28, 1953 to President Kim Il Sung who led the Fatherland Liberation War to victory and achieved brilliant exploits in the Korean revolution and the world revolution in reflection of the unanimous desire of the entire people.

    It also gave the title of DPRK Labour hero on September 7, 1958 to the President who led the socialist revolution and construction to victory reflecting the boundless feelings of thanks and reverence of the entire Korean people.

    President Kim Il Sung received the title of the DPRK hero on April 14, 1972 in celebration of his 60^th birth anniversary because he had done a lot for the country and the people, for the Party and the revolution.

    On April 15, 1982 the Korean people awarded the title of the DPRK hero to the President who led to victory the arduous and complicated Korean revolution to build the people-centred socialism and made immortal exploits in the people’s cause of independence.

    Reflecting the unanimous will of the entire Korean people the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the National Defense Commission of the DPRK and the Central People’s Committee of the DPRK gave the title of the DPRK Generalissimo to him who founded and led the Juche-oriented revolutionary armed force, and thus contributed much to the country and revolution on April 13, 1992 greeting his 80^th birthday.

    All of the titles the President had are the expression of high admiration of the Korean people towards the great exploits performed by him who devoted himself to the prosperity of the country, to the happiness of the people and the realization of the global independence.
