It is a noble will implanted by leader Kim Jong Il in the minds of the Korean officials that there should be no impurities in their mind for the people even if there is a flaw in the crystal.

Leader Kim Jong Il said that officials should thoroughly defend interests of the people and devote all for the people with a correct viewpoint on the popular masses, holding aloft the Party’s slogan, “we serve the people”.

It was when leader Kim Jong Il looked around modern tall apartment houses built in Pyongyang, capital of the DPRK.

Some day before people moved into new houses, leader Kim Jong Il, who was guided by the officials in charge of the construction to look round the block of newly-built apartment houses, called at an apartment house.

He kept a satisfactory smile on his face when he looked around well-lighted and large rooms, kitchen, bathroom, toilet and store.

The officials did not conceal their satisfaction, thinking that its interior structure and construction were perfect.

After he looked around every interior of the house with a bright smile on his face, he went out to the verandah.

After enjoying for a while a bird-eye view of the outside on the verandah with a fine sight, he suddenly called an official. The official led the construction and tried hard to do everything scrupulously in keeping with the Party’s intention, staying day and night at the construction site.

Leader Kim Jong Il indicated a corner of the verandah to him.

He was at a loss as he could not find any faults however hard he tried.

When he failed to find it, leader Kim Jong Il advised him that the draining hole should be closely attached to the floor but it was a bit above it.

Then the official looked at the draining hole carefully with a new sight. The hole was certainly a little above the floor.

He said as follows. …This is by no means a practical matter that someone did not find out such a hole. It tells the working manner and disposition of our officials although it is trifle. …

He also taught the officials that they should do everything cautiously and scrupulously without any trifle defects with the stand of the people who would use the apartment houses whether it is in sight or out of sight and whether it is big or small and that it is the working manner and disposition befitting a faithful servant of the people.

Leader Kim Jong Il went on, looking at the officials who felt self-accused. …Some may say that such a trifle fault can be neglected, thinking that it is so big for the people to have such wonderful apartment houses as the saying goes; “nothing is perfect in the world”. We can never allow any impurities in our officials’ mind for the people although a flaw on a gem is tolerable.

They were so much moved by him.

The boundlessly warm love for the people of leader Kim Jong Il who easily taught them the working manner stroke their hearts.

After leader Kim Jong Il went back, they measured with a ruler how high the draining hole of the verandah was from the floor.

It was about 1 mm high from the floor.

Height of 1mm in a huge building can be out of ordinary people’s sight.

Indeed, it was the height that people can be in sight only when they kept the spirit of seving the people.

Today the officials of DPRK are thoroughly preparing themselves to be true servants of the people who don’t allow even 1 mm deviation for them, keeping in mind the noble will of leader Kim Jong Il who says that they must not have impurities in their minds for the people even though nothing is perfect in the world.
