    Distinctive Pothonggang Fish and Meat Shop was built on the picturesque bank of Pothong River in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the occasion of 100^th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

    Though leader Kim Jong Il saw to it that Pothongmun Street Fish and Meat Shop was built for the sake of the citizens of the capital, he was to provide them with something else more. Hence, one day, the leader instructed to build another one as same as the shop so as to improve the people’s dietary life.

    True to the noble intention of the leader, respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un personally selected the most suitable site of the shop near by Mansu Bridge and saw to that the People’s Army undertake the construction.

    The Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un earnestly instructed that the People’s Army should build Pothonggang Fish and Meat Shop into a model shop serving the people, a grand monumental edifice to be impeccable even in the distant future and thus make contribution to bringing the desire of leader Kim Jong Il who devoted his whole life for the provision of affluent and happy life to the people, into reality.

    One day in January, 2012, the Supreme Leader came to the construction site of Pothonggang Fish and Meat Shop in the teeth of severe cold to give detailed instructions related to the issues including the thoroughgoing embodiment of serve-the-people spirit and kindheartedness, location of kitchen and signboard.

    The Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un personally attended the opening ceremony.

    Coming to a balcony on the 3^rd floor after looking round the 2^nd one, the Supreme Leader highly appreciated that he was pleased with the shop and the People’s Army did another good job for the sake of the people, adding the surrounding scenery was fine and the shop was built in such an excellent location.

    Giving precious instructions including the management of the shop and supply of goods, the Supreme Leader said he would be waiting for the good news that the people enjoy the benefit of the shop.

    Looking up to the Supreme Leader who unfolds unceasing pictures of giving priority to and loving the people, the officials made a firm determination to report only good news that the people enjoy the benefit of Pothonggang Fish and Meat Shop true to the intention of the peerlessly great leader.

    Today the people’s happy laughter resounds highly in Pothonggang Fish and Meat Shop.
