The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un noted in his report delivered at the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea that the WPK faithfully discharged its mission and duty, regarding the people-first principle as its political ideal.
The people-first principle is the political ideal to regard the people as masters of the revolution and construction, rely on the people and make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.
The WPK whose political ideal is the people-first principle established more thoroughly the revolutionary Party climate of respecting and loving the people and making selfless, devoted efforts for them throughout the Party in the period under review under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. The WPK clearly demonstrated its original feature and real character of the Party which serves the people with devotion. The WPK consistently maintained not only the principle of respecting urgent requirements and desire of the people when establishing and putting into practice its lines and policies but the principle of putting the people’s convenience in the first place and considering the feedback and assessment from the people as a yardstick when carrying out all production and construction. It also paid special attention to the work of making all Party organizations and national institutions display fully the spirit of devoting themselves to the people.
Thanks to the WPK’s politics based on the people-first principle, the political and ideological position of the Korean revolution was firmly consolidated, an unquenchable strength that can break through any obstacles and challenges was built up, and the advantages and vitality of people-centred socialism were fully displayed.
The Party and the state make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people, and the people totally entrust their destiny and future to the Party and the state and support the Party and the state with great sincerity—this is the true picture of socialist Korea in which the people-first principle is applied.
The cause of the WPK which makes selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people and enjoys their unreserved support and trust will be invincible.
