In the DPRK, all medical services like medicines, diagnosis, medical examination, treatment, operation, etc., provided to patients including the outpatients and preventive medical services like medical treatment service, assistance at a childbirth, health check, etc. are free of charge.
The state rationally establishes clinics and hospitals throughout the country and modernizes them and establishes special hospitals and special sanatoriums including children’s hospitals in many different places and sees to continuously raise the specialization level of medical service, thus enabling the people to have medical treatment at any time anywhere without any inconvenience.
