    The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un put forward in his New Year’s Address the tasks for bringing about miraculous successes in the agricultural front, the major thrust in building an economic giant.

    The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un said.

    “The agricultural front, the major thrust in building an economic giant, should raise a strong wind of scientific farming and push forward the movement for increasing crop yield.”

    Last year during the 70-day and 200-day campaign, the agricultural sector waged struggle for the increased yield of grains, thus registering successes.

    They bred high-yielding strains with a view to ramping up agricultural production and increased the nationwide distribution of good high-yielding crop area and double-cropping area. They also waged bold and strenuous campaign to introduce advanced farming methods in all fields. The campaign to actively invent and introduce effective farm machines was actively accelerated and thus gained good experience and laid foundation for increasing the proportion of mechanization of farming as intended by the Workers’ Party of Korea.

    The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un elucidated that the agricultural sector should raise a strong wind of scientific farming and push forward the movement for increasing crop yield this year. He also elucidated that it should widely introduce seeds of superior strains and scientific farming methods, whose advantages have been proved in practice, expand the area of land under two-crop farming, and be proactive in inventing and introducing high-performance farm machines. He also said that it should adopt measures to run the livestock farming base in the Sepho area on a normal basis and increase the production of fruits, mushrooms and vegetables, so that the people can enjoy benefits from them.

    The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un’s saying is a science and victory, and implementing his saying to the letter is a key to high yield and the shortcut to a leap forward.

    Officials and agricultural workers in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea resolute to reap the richest harvest this year, the year of key importance in carrying out the 5-year strategy for national economic development, by thoroughly implementing the tasks set forth in the New Year’s Address.
