    The Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower located on the bank of Pothong River in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, is an immortal monument erected to convey the heroic feats of the Korean People’s Army and people who defeated the allied imperialist forces headed by the US imperialists and safeguarded the liberty and independence of the country under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

    It was erected on the bank of Pothong River in 1993 under the energetic leadership of leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 40^th anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

    The Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower erected as a heroic monument of the times is composed of a gate at the entrance, a monument bearing the President’s autograph, a monument to a dedicated poem, sculptures of the Party flag, the colors of the army and guards on both insides of the gate, main theme sculpture Victory and 10 subsidiary theme group sculptures on both sides in front of the sculpture.

    On the front side of the gate located at the entrance of the monument, there is a hanging board of President Kim Il Sung’s autograph Monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and a cap-badge with a lucid five-point star and a flag of the Republic are embossed at the center above the board.

    Height of a main theme sculpture “Victory” is 27 meters including the 7-meter high foundation and thus symbolizes the July 27, a victory day. A soldier holding aloft a flattering flag of the Republic is depicted in the form of a tower. The subsidiary theme group sculptures on the both sides between the gate and a main theme statue vividly and formatively show the ideological and mental traits of the Korean People’s Army and the Korean people who devoted their youth and lives to defend their country and system.

    The Monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War has been wonderfully changed into a grand open-air museum by respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un’s lofty intention to add lustre to President Kim Il Sung’s immortal exploits of having achieved victory in the war to convey the heroic feats of the KPA and the people.

    The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un’s immortal autograph Respect to the Great Annals is pasted on the foundation of the main theme sculpture Victory. Turfs have been planted on the wide education avenue in front of the sculpture Victor which was paved with granites in the past and fountains installed, thus making the Monument more peculiar in formative arts.

    The Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Memorial Tower that conveys long the President’s Juche-oriented military ideas, distinguished leadership and war-victory exploits is the monument of victory that demonstrates before the world the indomitable spirit of the heroic Korean people who defeated the US imperialists boasted of being the world “strongest” in the grim FLW and the monument of faith and will associated with the indomitable will of the people in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to build a powerful socialist country on this land.
