Preparatory committees for celebrating the 80^th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il were formed in Venezuela and Sri Lanka on January 25 and 29, 2022.

Personages of every walk of life participated in the inaugural meetings. Chairmen, secretary generals and members of the committees were elected at the meetings.

The committees decided to hold online celebrating meetings and various events praising the immortal exploits performed by the Chairman in the development of the Korean revolution and the world revolution on the occasion of the 80^th birth anniversary of the Chairman.
