Hong Chung Song, a student of Pyongyang Secondary School No.1 in the DPRK got high marks in the 54th International Mathematics Olympics held in July 2013 and won an IMO gold medal for three times. As soon as the news was broadcasted, people from several countries of the world praised him.
Members of the Luxemburg delegation expressed admiration by saying that the DPRK’s education is beyond their imagination. Head of the Irish delegation said that he envied students from the DPRK as they got the highest mark. Chairman of the IMO consultative committee and concurrently the head of the Russian delegation said that the DPRK’s math education is on a very high level.
AKP of Cambodia broadcasted that many educationists in the world said with admiration that the DPRK is a country with many talents and its education is on a high level when they heard the news that a young student from the DPRK became a triple winner of the IMO gold medal.
