Superiority of socialism in the DPRK where the popular masses are the masters of everything and everything serves them is intensively expressed in the socialist education system.

Chairman Kim Jong Il said.

“Our Party has established the most superior socialist education system and a system under which the entire population studies. It is running these at the expense of the state and society, and is thus brilliantly carrying out the task of bringing up all members of society as full-fledged builders of socialism and communism.”

The education system in the DPRK is the most advanced and superior one where everyone can fully realize his hope and talent while learning to his heart’s content for his life, paying no money.

The DPRK’s education system enforces the free universal compulsory education system to get all the coming generations to study.

The DPRK established the free universal elementary compulsory education system in 1956 and the free universal secondary compulsory education system in 1958. On the basis of this, since 1959 it has enforced the free universal education system of educating at the state expense in all educational organs of the country.

Since September 1972, the DPRK has enforced the universal 11-year compulsory education system for the first time in the world, in 2012 promulgated the law on enforcing the universal 12-year compulsory education and finished the successful preparations for it.

The universal 12-year compulsory education consists of one-year pre-school education course, 5-year primary school course, 3-year junior middle school course and 3-year senior middle school course.

The DPRK builds branch schools for a few children who live in mountainous regions and island villages far from the city, and provides with school trains, school ships and school buses for them. She provides with everything necessary for life as well as for education to the pupils at orphans’ primary and secondary schools.

The reality of the DPRK where compulsory education is guaranteed by free education fully shows the superiority of socialist education system incomparable with the capitalist education system.

The DPRK’s education system trains comprehensively-developed competent talents.

The DPRK applies the principle of socialist pedagogy to ensure that the students possess the political and ideological consciousness, all-round knowledge and sound bodies that can contribute to the building of a thriving socialist country.

Important contents of the socialist education are to strengthen the political and ideological education, provide the students with achievements of advanced science and technology and intensify the scientific, technological and sports education to develop their ability to apply them. The DPRK defines the methods of socialist education as the heuristic instruction and education, the combination of theoretical education with practical education, the combination of education with productive labor, the combination of home education with school and social educations and the coordination of preschool, school and adult educations and applies them thoroughly.

Recently the DPRK concentrates national investment in the work of improving the contents and methods, conditions and environment of education while aiming high for the building of an educational power, the talents power and paying big attention to the strengthening of the secondary general education.

She pushes ahead with the work of teaching, experiment and practice by using computers, TV, multi-media technology and other modern means and technologies of information and communication as required by the era of knowledge-based economy.

E-libraries and gymnasiums which have been wonderfully built for recent years at Kim Il Sung University and some other universities, modern educational equipment and apartment houses newly built for the educators are a clear manifestation of the WPK’s policy of giving importance to education.

The DPRK’s education system also provides substantial conditions under which all the working people can receive enough high education according to their hope and talent while they are working.

Established in every part of the country is a well-planned education system of learning while working including factory colleges, farm colleges and fishermen’s colleges which have been built in consideration of the regional distribution of national economy and the characteristics of sectors.

Officials and working people who are in active service not only study, free of charge, in the learning-while-working education system but receive the fixed salary in service.

The working people who received high education while working master science and technology of their sectors and thus make a big contribution to the development of national economy.

The Grand People’s Study House was built and libraries and bookshops have been built across the country and the scientific and technological data information and service system has been established on a nationwide scale. Remote education system has been established in important universities. As a result, all the people learn to their hearts’ contents anywhere enlarging their stock of knowledge.

The DPRK has now become a full-fledged satellite manufacturer and launcher. By breaking the cutting edge of science and technology she is now making brilliant successes in several sectors of national economy and pressing ahead with the building of a socialist civilization. Her reality is inconceivable, apart from the advanced and superior socialist education system.

Thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un’s plan to make all the people well-versed in science and technology, his constant care for education and the most advanced and superior socialist education system, the number of the people who are well versed in science and technology to shoulder the building of a thriving socialist country will grow more and more.

Article 56 of Chapter 3 of the DPRK Socialist Constitution in which great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, the people-first principle, is embodied stipulates that the State shall protect people’s lives and improve the working people’s health by consolidating and developing the system of universal free medical service, strengthening the district doctor system and the preventive medicine system and improving the material supply to the field of public health.

As stipulated in the constitution, the DPRK consolidates and develops the system of universal free medical service to reliably guarantee the people’s lives and health.

It has established in a few years a nationwide telemedicine system whose main content is to make consultation between patients and doctors and to give technical course to medical workers.

Tele-operation support system, tele-management system of women’s health and tele-management system of children’s health were introduced throughout the country.

As the nationwide telemedicine system has been established, many successes are made in diagnosing and treating patients and preventing diseases.

Here are examples. A baby of a worker in Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province, the northern tip of the DPRK, who fell into a critical state soon after birth, was recovered miraculously and a boy in Samjiyon City stood on the ground.

Nobody but the privileged people receive telemedicine service in other countries, but in the DPRK, everyone is benefited by the telemedicine system while leading a happy life in good health.

The DPRK that spares nothing for the people’s health and lives and provides them with benefits of the most advanced medical service is, indeed, a true country of the people.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is now taking the lead in serving the people faithfully.

Saying that one-year efforts will help the country make a 10-year progress, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un makes tireless efforts for the country and the people.

Although he has devoted his all for the good of the people, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un solemnly pledged on the high rostrum of the 8^th Congress of the WPK that, regarding his great people as the God of his life, he would work at the risk of his life as their faithful servant on the road of devoted service for them.

The DPRK is, indeed, the country of great love that believes in the working people as in heaven and spares nothing for them.
