Greeting the 110^th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, we deeply remember his affectionate instructions.

Since his early years, the President attached importance to the youth issue and showed trust and love to them. With great magnanimity, self-confidence and firm conviction, the President had trust in the young people. Out of plan to prepare the young people into powerful vanguards of the revolution, the reliable reserves for national defence so that they can fulfill their duty assumed before the times and the revolution, the President trained them into the vanguards.

At the Meeting of the Leading Personnel of the Young Communist League and the Anti-Imperialist Youth League held in Kalun in June 1930, the President clarified the path of the Korean revolution on the basis of the principles of the Juche idea.

The young revolutionaries of the first generation won victory in the historic cause of national liberation against the Japanese imperialists under the wise leadership of the President. The victorious national liberation struggle waged by the young revolutionaries under the President’s leadership and instructions will be a fine example of the young people in the world throughout the generation to come.

The Korean young people defended their nation and demonstrated its might through their great struggle and at the Chollima speed in the postwar period of rehabilitation. Also in the period of the Arduous March when the DPRK went through ordeals, the young people recorded a glorious history with their devotion and bravery.

Today, the efforts and struggle of the DPRK people, especially of the youth to constantly increase their internal force under the anti-DPRK harsh and continuous blockade and sanctions have become foundations for the state development that is being made now by their own efforts for the building of politics, economy and society in the DPRK.

We realize the leading role of the DPRK youth in successes achieved by its people in all realms of their revolutionary struggle.

For example, the young people in the sector of science and technology display their creativity and talents as pioneers of the scientific and technical revolution.

Recently, the DPRK that launched its first artificial satellite in 1998, has fully proved its might and development level in the field of science and technology before the world. The DPRK made such valuable success and innovation as the building of nuclear forces indispensible in the building of powerful socialist country. The DPRK made the nuclear weapons miniaturized, light, standardized and tactical and completed the development of a hydrogen bomb. The DPRK developed a hyper-powerful attack weapon, the super-large MLRS, which the world’s weaponry field had never known. The sector of national defence developed the world-class anti-aircraft rocket complex, self-propelled gun howitzer and anti-armoured weapons.

In the sector of education, vigorous efforts were made to innovate teaching contents and methods and improve educational conditions and environment. Positive efforts were made to put sports on a scientific basis and raise the strong wind of sports. The agricultural field waged an intensive drive for scientific farming and high yield despite persistent and severe drought and flooding and all kinds of shortages, and thus brought about an unprecedented increase in grain production. The work for establishing a national system for disaster prevention and crisis management was pushed, thereby making it possible to flexibly cope with all sorts of disasters including natural calamities.

In the sector of land and environment, over a million hectares of forests were newly planted and the forces for and means of afforestation and water-conservancy, land and environment protection and urban management were provided.

Major factories and enterprises in the sector of light industry were upgraded to secure potentials for radically boosting the quality and output of consumer goods, and a foundation for increasing production was systematically laid in the fishery sector. A series of achievements were made in putting the metallurgical industry, chemical industry, electric power, coals and machine-building industry, rail transport and telematics, on a Juche-oriented and self-supporting basis.

Such successes are related with the role of the youth, and it proves validity of the idea of giving importance to the youth advanced by the President.

The President’s instructions will bring peace and love to the people and nations in each country of the world and enables Mexico to realize complete independence of its people. The President taught that, in order to make revolution, the people in each country should create working method suited to their realities. The contingents of the young people in all parts of the world should struggle to become the dignified creators of the revolution. The powerful weapon in this struggle is the Juche idea authored by the President.

In order to take the lead in the new historic era in which we live at present, it is necessary to devote our all efforts, wisdom, creativity and enthusiasm. It is important to acquire high ideological consciousness to reject the imperialist ideology and culture that injure the young people through violence and individualism. It is also necessary to reject all sorts of practices that do damages to and destroy society so as to fulfill honorary mission as the vanguard of the revolution.

Bearing the President’s instructions and fulfilling their historic mission, the young people should become pioneers, the builders of a prosperous and powerful country. It is because prosperity of the times hinges on the young people.
