    It was a mild spring day on which the 80^th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung was approaching.

    Passing along a street in Pyongyang City by car, President Kim Il Sung carefully examined the signboards of restaurants including a noodle service shop and warm rice service shop that came into his sight.

    Turned his eyes to junior cadres in the back seat, the President said that from olden times, Pyongyangites have prepared and had delicacies like cold noodle, warm rice, mullet soup, and mung-bean pancake, and these are the most famous Pyongyang dishes.

    The President continued the explanation of each of the special dish in Pyongyang.

    The President explained that Pyongyang warm rice is a dish of boiled rice in chicken soup garnished with fried chicken and mushroom.

    Looking at each other, the officials smiled with their eyes while swallowing their saliva as his explanation stimulated their appetite.

    Wearing a smile on his face while paying attention to their slightest expressions, the President continued to talk about mullet soup.

    Saying that mullet soup is tasty when it is boiled in cold water, the President made clear that some people think that mullet soup is supposed to boil with hot pepper paste but it should be boiled in cold water. Wearing a smile on his face, he told them that he was going to serve them mullet soup boiled in cold water.

    The President said that he instructed to the officials concerned in the Party Central Committee to encourage the preparation and service of cold noodle, warm rice, mullet soup and mung-bean pancake in restaurants in Pyongyang City as they are the special dishes of all the Pyongyang dishes.

    Like this, President Kim Il Sung imparted the special dishes in Pyongyang and devoted all his energy so as to make the Korean people enjoy them to their hearts’ content.
