The DPRK enforced the universal 11-year compulsory education since 1972 and proclaimed the law of the Supreme People’s Assembly on introducing the universal 12-year compulsory education in September 2012.
In the DPRK everyone aged between 5 and 17 go through 1-year preschool education at kindergarten, 5-year education at primary school, 3-year education at junior middle school and 3-year education at senior middle school before they take part in labour life.
As it is educated and high in quality, the DPRK’s labour force is capable of adapting quickly to every kind of job.
